Fotini (Fenia) Lekka is a museum professional and a research historian. She is the head of the Department of Museums, Gallery and other Cultural Entities of the Municipality of Karditsa (3.2024). She studied Archaeology (School of Philosophy, University of Ioannina, 1992) and Museology (Leipzig University of Applied Sciences HTWK, Germany, 1997). She holds a PhD. in social and Economic History of the 19th century from the Department of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly (2016). She runs the municipal City Museum of Karditsa since 2003. She is the executive director of Karditsa Museums & Collections Network (KMCN) ever since it was founded, in 2009. KMCN counts twenty-one members and is an innovation in national scale, as it was created and still operates "from below". She has organized museums from the primary stage of collection strategy and targeting, autonomously or as a member of interdisciplinary teams, he created content and curated museum exhibitions, as well as audiovisual productions, educational programmes, history walks and various projects aiming at social empowerment through public understanding of culture and history. She has taught Museum Documentation, Theory of Museum Display, Museology, Curating Practices, Cultural Policies and Cultural Management (University of Thessaly/ Dep. Of Museopedagogy, School of Plastic Arts & Art Sciences/University of  Ioannina, Department of Culture, Creative Media and Industries/ University of Thessaly, CCMI). She has published papers in Greek and international scholarly journals, collective volumes or independently and she has edited conference proceedings. Since February 2023, she is collaborating with the Laboratory of Visual Culture and Curating Practices (OPEP) of CCMI, founded and supervised by Ass. Prof. Dr. Sotiris Bachtsetzis.
